Experimental Radiant Cooling

Radiant Cooling Countertops In the spring of the year 2000, I designed and installed a cold- water radiant cooling system in my house that performed beyond my expectations. I circulated 56 degree well water through my existing radiant floor heating system. This cooled my floors off to approximately 68 degrees. The first question everyone asks is "is that enough to cool off your whole house?" The answer is not completely.
Heated & Chilled Countertops        As the outside temperature approached 80 degrees
the temperature inside my house started to rise. I then installed 2 cold water-fan driven heat exchangers, one for each floor with separate thermostats providing automatic zoned comfort, these exchangers are what packs the punch in this cooling system, they provide air movement and a greater capacity for cooling and they also help to remove humidity. The temperature inside my house stays below 70 degrees.

The level of comfort with radiant cooling is much better than forced-air conditioning that chill the air and then distributes it with those dusty ducts. With radiant cooling all the objects in the room become much cooler, making it feel like a cool spring day. Radiant Cooling Heat Exchanger
